Ukrainian Business Has Recovered to February Levels

SmartTender (IT-Enterprise) says business operations in Ukraine have returned to mid-February figures.

Sales and procurement operations in Ukraine are gradually recovering, coming close to mid-February levels in July. This is shown by the latest statistics from SmartTender.biz, Ukraine’s biggest e-procurement platform for privately owned companies and public organizations (Prozorro section).

According to SmartTender.biz, commercial bidding marked a dramatic fall after February 24, 2022. Many private companies were forced to postpone procurement or even suspend operations. On average, the daily numbers of active commercial auctions on the platform were the following:

  • February — 1,534 auctions per day (as of February 1–28, 2022);
  • March — 568;
  • April — 732;
  • May — 987;
  • June — 1,432.

In July 2022, Ukrainian businesses continued their activities on the platform, showing a steady positive trend.

In a bid to make e-procurement more convenient, the SmartTender.biz team has expanded the use of artificial intelligence and developed a tool called SmartProcurement. Now the algorithms are helping Ukrainian companies quickly find suppliers that will best match their requirements.

This new level of improvement was already under development at the end of last year. Yet it is now, during the full-scale war, that companies need the most efficient solutions to survive, and our algorithms are supporting the business community, says Serhii Antoniuk, Head of Customer Onboarding at SmartTender.biz.

In the autumn, the company expects further growth of procurement activity to the level of February 24, 2022, and its stabilization despite the challenges posed by the ongoing war.

SmartTender.biz is a Ukrainian e-procurement platform for public and commercial tenders. Founded in 2013 by IT-Enterprise (Ukraine), SmartTender.biz now has over 90,000 registered users. It is also an official platform for Prozorro public tenders and Prozorro.Sale auctions.
