Ukrainian Firm Creates “Autonomous 3D-printed Mobile House”

Ukrainian start-up PassivDom has created what it describes as an “autonomous 3D-printed mobile house”.

There are currently two versions for sale: the ModulOne, which contains a living room studio, kitchen and a bathroom, and is available for $64,000, and the ModulTwo, which contains a living room, one bedroom, kitchen, one bathroom, and is designed as a single-family house costing $97,000.

The kitchens in both homes contain a microwave oven, refrigerator, dishwasher and coffee machine, and the bathrooms include a toilet, shower, washing machine and sink. The houses are described by the firm as being “similar to a four-star hotel”.

The PassivDom houses will be autonomous, meaning they come with an electricity supply consisting of solar panels and batteries, a water container with filters and a sewage system.

According to PassivDom, the residences have “the best thermal characteristics and are the warmest residential building in the world, according to The Guinness Book of Records”.

The house, which have a structure made from carbon, can be heated and cooled without the need for electricity or gas.

PassivDom says its houses can be used as a “mobile hotel” or as a guest house in a back garden. It is setting up a trial system where prospective customers can live in one of the houses for a few days to see if it suits them.
