Unicorn Systems Expands its Portfolio of Energy Solutions
Unicorn Systems was awarded the project for replacement of the Control Point System (CPS) for the submarine HVDC interconnection between the United Kingdom and the Netherlands. The new solution, which is due for deployment into live operations in December 2014, will allow BritNed to better control and manage the flow of electricity through the 1000 MW submarine cable with greater precision and efficiency.
Unicorn Systems will build the new CPS system using its proprietary Unicorn Open Platform, and it will make use of several open source technologies. The comprehensive project includes the design, development and supply of the CPS – including the related hardware and software, the delivery of the infrastructure and additional services, including 5 years of maintenance and support.
