Committed to learning: Intetics supports Wikimedia Foundation

In January 2014 the Wikimedia Foundation, the organization that runs projects such as Wikipedia, Wikimedia Commons, Wiktionary and others, released its annual report, detailing its contributors, donation revenue, and expenditures.

Intetics is a proud contributor to this initiative, and has shown its continuous support with monetary donations for the past three years.

According to the Foundation’s annual report, the organization received over $50 million contributions, with total expenditures of $35.7 million in 2013.

Most of the expenses went to product and engineering, as well as administration, fundraising, and other programs. Wikipedia, one of the Foundation’s biggest projects, currently boasts 30 million articles in 287 languages, with over 70,000 active volunteer editors.

Wikimedia Foundation’s slogan reads “Imagine a world in which every single human being can freely share in the sum of all knowledge.” Intetics is happy to be among one of the large contributors on the list of Wikimedia benefactors, and we hope that one day the knowledge among humans can indeed be shared freely.
