Unicorn Systems organized a reference visit for the Ukrainian state organization Energorynok to the Netherlands

Unicorn Systems has organized a reference visit for the Ukrainian state organization Energorynok. Ukraine is changing its current market model towards a more European model.

In order to gain more insight in how a liberalized energy market is organized, a study trip was organized to the Netherlands. Reference visits were made to the Power Exchange EPEX-Spot (former APX) and CertiQ (the issuing body of Guarantee of Origin in the Netherlands).

Unicorn Systems was able to facilitate this event thanks to its strong footprint in the international Energy & Utilities domain with local branch offices in both Kiev and Arnhem.

In EPEX-Spot was shown how the Day-Ahead (DA) and Intraday (ID) market are operated, and how the actual energy trading is facilitated. Mr. Ivanov explained that the business procedures of the future market are already clear for them and now the IT issues are studied.

The goal of their visit to EPEX-Spot was to understand the software- and IT infrastructure.EPEX-Spot ICT Program Manager Han Pommee told about APX, its role and position at the European market and the ICT application architecture.

Also CertiQ, the Dutch Local Registry of Issuing Bodies, was visited. CertiQ CEO Jan van der Lee presented how the market of guarantee of origins is functioning.

Explanation was given on the governing EU regulations up to and including the specific features of the Green Certificate Exchange via the international trading platform.
