Unicorn Systems Successfully Launches the New AIB Central Processing HUB
Last weekend, Unicorn System successfully launched the renewed central inter-registry HUB application for The Association of Issuing Bodies (AIB).
AIB promotes the use of a standardised system, based on harmonised environment, structures and procedures in order to ensure the reliable operation of international energy certificate systems.
This standardised system is known as EECS® ‐ the European Energy Certificate System. In doing so it ensures reliable and efficient cross-border exchange of guarantees of origin (GOs), thereby strengthening and enlarging the market.
In order to further facilitate the international exchange of energy certificates, the AIB operates an inter-registry telecommunications Hub. Due to the enormous growth of the GOs traded, the previous system was no longer sufficient.
Unicorn Systems has completely redesigned and rebuilt the application and made it future proof. To be able to achieve given goals, Unicorn Systems built the solution upon its own Unicorn Open Energy Platform, which is also being used by other European ICT Integration Solutions in the Energy Domain.
The new solution will be hosted, operated and maintained in the Unicorn Energy Cloud.
Jan Konrád, International Services Director Unicorn Systems, noted:
“The team, in close cooperation with the AIB Taskforce Systems, worked really hard to rebuild the application in such a short time. I am very pleased with the successful launch. This again confirms that our solutions contribute to an efficient and transparent European Energy Market.”
Jan van der Lee, Chairman of the Board of the Association of Issuing Bodies, added:
“Over the last year, the AIB has put a lot of effort into developing the next generation AIB Hub together with Unicorn Systems. Seeing the first GOs being transferred in the new AIB Hub is a major milestone for us. Together with Unicorn Systems, we will continue to improve the service to our members and their account holders. The AIB and its new Hub will guarantee the origin of European energy for many years to come.”
