Unicorn Systems Delivered System Based on Its Finno Platform to an American Organization Media Development Investment Fund
Unicorn Systems developed an information system for administration of loans and other financial assets for Media Development Investment Fund (MDIF), an American non-profit fund registered in New York specializing in providing support to independent media. The system is built on a Finno platform and is called Narval.
Over the time of its existence, MDIF has operated two information systems supporting its main business processes – administration of loans, repayment schedules, payments, and property shares. However, the previous systems did not meet the needs of the fund – the first because of its complicated maintenance and further development, and the second due to an enormous complexity of a ready-made product. MDIF therefore decided to acquire a new, tailored system, which was custom-made by the Unicorn Systems company.
The delivered system solves all standing issues as it combines a clear user interface, modern technologies and a robust platform from the Finno product family, where the processes, screens and data structures are implemented exactly as required by MDIF. The system went live into a routine operation in the 4th quarter of 2016, after data from the legacy systems was migrated, and Narval thus replaced the previous manual processing of data.
“We are really glad that the information system realization for MDIF was successful. We were able to meet the customer’s expectations, which is greatly due to the Finno platform. Thanks to this platform, we were able to provide the solution within less than four months,”
says Jan Jaroš, Unicorn Systems Chief Executive Officer.
Marie Němcová, Chief Operating Officer of MDIF, adds to this statement:
„We chose Unicorn Systems as our new information system vendor on the basis of our positive experience during previous cooperation on the functional specification. What we appreciate the most in the new system is mainly the significant increase of user comfort because it is custom-made to meet our specific procedures and processes.”
