Skelia Sponsors “Boteon” Robotics Course for Children in Lviv

Skelia, a trusted global IT provider of software development, quality assurance and outsourcing services, is sponsoring Children’s Robotics Course held at Skelia’s Lviv Service Centre.

As a family company, Skelia is committed to exercising corporate social responsibility by supporting impactful social initiatives.

Boteon’ youth training program aims to develop children’s abstract and logical thinking, as well as provide students with good knowledge and practical skills in computer science, programming, circuit design engineering, and construction.

Boteon is a unique one-year program that can further be extended to a two (or three)-year course, offering a holistic and in-depth understanding of physical and informational aspects of modern computer and electronic equipment.

Learning through games based on interaction with real robots, working on challenging tasks, and using intuitive visual programming assist young students in shaping the engineering way of thinking and paving the way to a successful future career in one of the most in-demand and fastest-growing industry.

Each 1,5-hour weekly session consists of theoretical and practical parts. During the four-level course attendees gain hands-on experience on interesting projects – from the ground up and up to the final phase.

Upon completion of the program, graduates will be able to work with the Arduino hardware computing platform, design and implement algorithms in visual programming environments, and create Smart House and IoT devices. Currently, 60 students aged 8-16, are attending the course, including children of Skelia’s employees.

20 projects created by Lviv teams were featured at Boteon Robotics Challenge 2016, the all-Ukrainian contest held in Kyiv on December 25, 2016. This event brings together young technology enthusiasts from all over the country to showcase student research and creative accomplishments.
