JEEConf 2014: Summary

The days of May 23 and 24 went cheery for the Java community, as the fourth JEEConf was held in Kyiv.

It gathered numerous Java developers, testers and project managers, and 37 speakers from 15 countries suggested their ideas and findings within the conference. GlobalLogic was among the sponsors of this event.

Key topics discussed at JEEConf were Java 8 and Spring 4. The newest engineering practices, concurrency and big data problems were also widely discussed. Guests from the US, Russia, Sweden, Israel, Poland, Chech Republic, Ukraine and other countries held their presentations.

Special attention was drawn by speeches of JVM developers from Oracle’s office in Saint Petersburg. At breaks the participants enjoyed a variety of fun activities and could even make a photo with a racoon!

GlobalLogic greeted the participants at its infopoint. Visitors were invited to test their knowledge of Java and compete in solving short problems. This activity sparked great interest among Java experts, and GlobalLogic rewarded the smartest ones with nice surprises.
