GlobalLogic supports young talents

Last week GlobalLogic participated in two events in Lviv, which were aimed at heightening interest in IT among schoolchildren and students.

On April 29, pupils of Lviv Physical and Mathematical Lyceum took a tour around GlobalLogic’s Lviv office. It was one of the series of visits to GlobalLogic within a project “Schoolchildren go to IT companies”, organized by the Administration of Interdepartmental Coordination within Lviv City Council.

The aim of the project is to popularize IT professions among students. It is no coincidence that pupils of this educational institution took part in this initiative, as Lviv Physical and Mathematical Lyceum tops the chart of the best schools in Ukraine, while its pupils are among the leaders of Academic Olympics in programming.

Moreover, GlobalLogic became a sponsor of the All-Ukrainian and 39th International ACM International Collegiate Programming Contest 2014.

The first stage of this competition was held at Lviv Polytechnic National University on April 26. 31 competing teams were from Lviv Polytechnic University and one team represented Lviv State University of Health and Safety.

The teams developed solutions to competitional assignments using C/C++ or Java. Each team of three had only one computer, so, along with technical knowledge, the students had to demonstrate teamwork skills.
