ELEKS’ Localization Experts Share Their Impressions of the World’s Largest IT Conference
ELEKS’ representatives, Katia Kosovan and Vilena Serhiyenko, returned from the world’s largest event, CeBIT, full of enthusiasm and new ideas. We have asked them to share their observations, conclusions and plans for the future.
Observations
Vilena: The CeBIT event totally met our expectations as the world’s leading expo and conference for IT technologies. It was mainly focused on the international market trends such as Big Data, Security, Mobile, Cloud, and Game-changing technologies. Additionally, at CeBIT Machine-to-Machine and Business Intelligence solutions were widely represented.
Katia: CeBIT proved to be an extensive B2B platform targeted at businesses that were looking for innovative solutions. Practically 80% of the represented companies were from the German-speaking region and were oriented to the DACH (Germany, Austria, and Switzerland) market.
Vilena: The notable peculiarity is a working principle of the German companies to accomplish international cooperation via the global distribution partner network.
Activities
Katia: At the conference, we attended a number of panel discussions with top speakers – Steve Wozniak, Eugene Kaspersky and Jimmy Wales. These leading decision-makers shared their views on how the IT industry should evolve in the nearest future. In particular, Eugene Kaspersky spoke about the biggest cyber security threats: crime, espionage and sabotage and how they plan to tackle them.
Vilena: A large exhibition area of 5 million sq.ft² included approximately 18 halls divided by thematic sectors. There, we visited many booths and explored various business solutions.T-Mobile, IBM, Symantec, SAP, Vodafone, Samsung and ESET had the most remarkable booths and devices demonstrated.
Conclusions
After CeBIT, we are certain that the company is developing in the right direction and we are going hand-in-hand with the modern market trends. This event also provided us with unique insights into the rapidly-evolving IT business, which we will consider for establishing international business connections.
