What will be the future of SME? The perspectives of simplified taxation system in Ukraine

UNIAN together with Tetyana Pavlyuk held the press-conference “What will be the future of SME? The perspectives of simplified taxation system in Ukraine”. On March, 21 Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine listed the draft law “About single tax # 8276”. The project of this draft law was developed by the representatives of Council of Entrepreneurs of Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine. The press-conference was devoted to the discussion of the future scenario of the simplified taxation system development and specifics of Draft law #8276. The participants of the conference:

  • Andriy Panaetov, Member of Coordinating Committee of SME Assembly;
  • Tetyana Zacerkovna, Head of PR and International Relation Committee of Auditor Union, Head of Council of  Entrepreneurs and Employers;
  • Tetyana Pavlyuk, President of Federation of Business and Intellectual Property Estimators;
  • Victor Maznyuk, President of Association “Ukrainian Hi-Tech Initiative”;
  • Yuriy Yeremenko, Member of Ukrainian Entrepreneurs Rescue Headquarters.
Tetyana Zacerkovna, Head of PR and International Relation Committee of Auditor Union, presented the project.  President of Federation of Business and Intellectual Property Estimators, Tetyana Pavlyuk noted that there are no alternatives to the draft law #8267. She also admitted the advantages of the document, particularly the fact that the volumes of annual revenue are increased in all categories which come within the simplified taxation. Furthermore, according to the draft law the rates of single tax will not be increased when new employees will be hired. Andriy Panaetov, Member of Coordinating Committee of SME Assembly believes that adoption of the draft law #8276 about the treatment of the simplified taxation system will allow creating about 500 thousand jobs in Ukraine during 2011 year. Victor Maznyuk, President of IT Association “Ukrainian HI-Tech Initiative” admitted that in IT sector about 30% of entrepreneurs comes within the simplified taxation system. “That is why it is very important for our business to have effective system of simplified taxation”, he noted. According the proposed Draft law, the certificate about transfer to the simplified taxation system will be issued with no fixed term. In case the representative of small-sized business will be transferred to the general taxation system, the certificate will be changed. The penalty provisions for violations in terms of revenue volume are also specified in the draft law in accordance with the categories indicated in the draft law.
