Educational Initiative for Higher Education Institutions “Make Digital World a Better Place”

Ukrainian HI-Tech Initiative, a leading Ukrainian software development alliance, launches the educational initiative for higher education institutions “Make Digital World a Better Place”.

Ukraine has a great potential and a key resource – fairly inexpensive and competitive labor market, which is not exploited to the full extent. According to the “Exploring Ukraine. IT Outsourcing Industry” research, our country occupies the fourth place in the world by the number of certified IT specialists. Our universities annually graduate about 16,000 IT specialists.

Ukrainian higher school also trains a large number of qualified specialists with high engineering potential. This enables the growth of the software development and testing industry. The world is constantly changing, the intensity of the processes is increasing, the information is certainly losing its relevance, especially when it comes to IT sphere. The development of the information technology industry is so fast that the educational system has no time to adapt to the changes. Educational institutions teach according to outdated standards, with insufficient operational expertise.

Ukrainian Hi-Tech Initiative, an alliance of seventy-seven leading companies, which has extensive experience and accomplishments in software development and provision of outsourcing services, wishes to share the knowledge and expertise and therefore launches the educational program for higher education institutions entitled “Make Digital World a Better Place”.

The main objectives of the program “Make Digital World a Better Place”:

    • development of the software quality assurance ecosystem in Ukraine;
    • popularization of the software testing profession among young people;
    • development and implementation of modern and effective QA education programs in academic programs of higher education institutions;
    • methodological and practical assistance in upgrading the skills of teachers who hold QA classes;
    • development and implementation of modern e-Learning support software in educational processes of higher education institutions.

The specialists from the Alliance, in collaboration with higher education institutions, have developed a study guide entitled “Methods and Assessment of Software Quality Using Pairwise Testing” and prepared a special education program for full-fledged teaching of the “Testing” subject in Ukrainian higher education institutions. Implementation of the training course organized by Ukrainian HI-Tech Initiative will allow developing the students’ potential and creating an effective platform for preparation of our country’s employment pool in IT sector.

Currently, the “Software Testing” course is taught at the Faculty of Information and Telecommunication Technologies and Systems of Poltava National Technical University named after Yuri Kondratyuk and Kryvyi Rih National University. A number of higher education institutions are preparing to introduce the subject to the variable part of curricula starting from the next academic year.

If you are a representative of a college, institute or university, submit a request to participate in the program “Make Digital World a Better Place” to the email address. We will review your request and contact you to discuss cooperation.
