Unicorn wins prestigious Award at the European IT Excellence Awards 2012
A Czech-based company Unicorn was selected as a winner of the prestigious European IT Excellence Awards 2012 held in London in category Enterprise Technology Innovation of the Year.
Amongst the international competition, Unicorn took the prize with its CTDS solution and proved that Czech IT can be compared to the best.
“Unicorn being acknowledged at such a prestigious international competition demonstrates high quality, image and efficiency of IT solutions made in the Czech Republic that are capable of holding their own against the largest of European companies. The award also motivates us to continue creating innovative systems and supply the European market with Czech solutions,”
added Jan Jaroš, a Board member of Unicorn. He accepted the award in London together with another Unicorn Board member, David Kimr.
The successful CTDS solution (Common Tool for Data Exchange and Security Assessment) is a unique system combining information about the plans of European transmission system operators (TSO) merged within the scope of the TSO Security Cooperation initiative (TSC).
The CTDS supports providing secured power supplies for 170 million Europeans. In the category for Technological Innovation of the Year, the award-winning CTDS solution caught the jurors’ eyes not only due to its original technological solution, but also for its commercial contribution for customers.
This year’s European IT Excellence Awards 2012 award ceremony was held on May 30, 2012 as part of the celebration dinner at the Sheraton Park Lane Hotel, London. Besides the award-winning CTDS solution, Unicorn was also among the finals in categories Vertical Solution of the Year with its product ACMart and European Service Provider of the Year with its software platform Unicorn Enterprise Systems (UES), a product of Unicorn Universe.
The European IT Excellence Awards are the only pan-European awards which recognise the crucial role that Solution Providers and Systems Integrators play in the delivery of real world solutions, and attracted entries from 23 countries. 49 companies from 17 countries made the finals.
